Carlisle Events is a world-renowned automotive events company that in 2024, is celebrating 50 years of entertaining collector car lovers from around the world. Also in 2024, the Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation (CMAF) marks its own benchmark; 20 years. Those decades-long milestones actually have an intersecting point, as Chip Miller co-founded Carlisle Events in 1974 and sadly, passed away in March of 2004 due to the rare disease known as Amyloidosis. Later this month, Chip’s legacy will be recognized as part of the annual Barrett-Jackson collector car auction, running January 20-28 in Scottsdale, Arizona.
By way of the CMAF and Lance Miller, Chip’s son, bidders in Scottsdale have a chance to take home an ultra-low mileage 2023 Corvette Z06 with Z07 Performance Package. The Metallic Red color will no doubt catch the eye of those in attendance, as will the story of Chip Miller, and his untimely passing. This car is so eye-catching, that some may recognize it as a “grand prize” previously offered by the CMAF. That, in fact, is the case, however; the Corvette Contest winner from October 2023 surprisingly declined the car and instead, took the $100,000 cash payment. That choice, combined with the fact that the CMAF had previously purchased the car for the contest, made it available again as a fundraising mechanism. With the support of Steve Davis, Craig Jackson and their team at Barrett-Jackson, the Z06 will once again be made available to support the cause, this time to a gallery of high-rolling collectors.
The Z06 was the most anticipated sports car of 2023 and this build certainly exceeds all expectations. It has the elegance and performance of a Corvette; with the style of a luxury car. Adorned in Metallic Red, this may be your only chance to get one, as pre-orders sold out and most owners are holding on to theirs for the foreseeable future. Purpose-built for the track, but every bit a street machine, you’ll find a 670 HP V8 under the…trunk. Top bid means the ability to pilot the most powerful naturally aspirated production V8 available, all while going from 0-60 in 2.6 seconds.
What else makes this ride so amazing? How about the fact that it has wider fenders, wider quarter panels, and a wider facia than the Stingray? Commanding meets functional with ground effects and rear high wing spoiler that optimizes aerodynamic drag and powertrain cooling efficiency. But wait, there’s more. There’s always more! It comes with replaceable spoiler wicker bills, rear brake cooling ducts, a removable front fascia panel, and front underwing stall gurneys for increased downforce. This will help keep you ON the track as you blow past your competition.
“On behalf of the CMAF, I’m grateful for all the support the automotive hobby provides our small foundation,” said CMAF President Lance Miller. “We’ve stayed focused on our mission and will continue doing so. Every penny generated goes to a cause near and dear to my heart,’ continued Miller. “My father was my best friend, mentor, and all-around great person. It brings myself, the board members, and my family great pride knowing he’s still making a positive impact today. We are excited to see how the Z06 does at auction later this month. Some lucky bidder will win an amazing car and help a great cause all in one!”
The Scottsdale auction will broadcast on both the History Channel and FYI, with each channel covering various days/day parts of the auction. Finally, and most importantly, the announced lot number and run date for the Corvette are Charity Lot 3000 and Thursday, January 25, 2024 at approximately 5:30 PM.
